It's officially fall! In our part of Texas, that means it is just south of 90 degrees. I think that this is my favorite season. To celebrate the beginning of fall, Ily and I decided to decorate the front door. We cut out a pumpkin from some burlap and painted it. Our finished product looked like this...

Take the time
I tried to breastfeed my oldest, but due to unforeseen complications, I wasn't able to. I am proud to say that Ily was formula fed (and she is perfect!). This time around, I was determined to breastfeed. In addition to all of the health benefits, and the fact that it is free, I have repeatedly experienced a profound perk of breastfeeding. That is, the quality time I have with my baby.
Don't get me wrong, at first I hated breastfeeding. I remember when Emery was about 3 weeks old and I was tired, sore and fed up. I actually stormed out of the room shouting that I just didn't want to do it. Over and over I heard to just tough it out, it would get better... if I could just make it to 6 weeks, it would definitely get better. I didn't believe it. The "Mom Enough" magazine cover came out when my daughter was about 1 month old. I wasn't sure if I was...
6 weeks went by, then 8, then 3 months and now my daughter is 5 months old. I can proudly say that I now love breastfeeding. Sure, the beginning was rocky. I overcame that. Babies grow at a phenomenal speed. It is so easy to rush through it all. I relish in the fact that every 3 hours or so, I have an excuse to stop what I am doing and spend some quiet, quality time with my little one. Even though my little milk guzzler eats in about 15 minutes now, I adore those 15 minutes I have with her. The way she grabs on to my shirt is precious as well...

Denim and Plum
I suppose my size is what you would call "average." I have a five month old, so I claim that some of it is baby weight. However, I am still trying to lose the baby weight from my first child (who is 6)!
I love to look at Pinterest and get ideas for outfits. There are a couple of blogs that I like to check out as well. Unfortunately, certain trends just don't work for me. Those boxy, short cut shirts... the high-low shirts... not for me. My torso is way too long and I certainly don't feel like showing my stomach. I will stick to what I feel most comfortable in and hope it looks good!
I have wanted to try skinny jeans for a while, but I find it difficult to find a comfortable and flattering pair. I found these pants recently. They are more of a straight leg, but oh well. It's hard to tell from the cruddy cell phone picture, but they are a pretty plum color.
I love my denim shirt, but the sleeves are not full length. I am determined to pick up a new denim or chambray shirt for fall. It would be fabulous if I could afford to purchase all of my fall fashion wants.

How Do You Do?
Hi, I'm Laci. Welcome to The Lace Letters! I suppose that this is where I begin to ramble a little about myself...

| Me |
I am a mother to two beautiful daughters, Ily, aka Miss Rose (6), and Emery, aka Emmaroo (4.5 months), and wife to my high school sweetheart, Henry. Crafting, cooking and looking at Pinterest are my major hobbies. I am also addicted to my iPhone/iPad. You will rarely see my daughters without bows on their heads. I am currently working on getting my teaching certification in High School Science.

Being that this is my blog, there are plenty of opportunities for me to tell you a little bit more about me. I set out to make a blog and didn't know what direction to take it in. Let's see where it goes from here...
